It is our privilege to apprise you of the ongoing efforts of our organization in steadfastly pursuing our mission, which is to catalyze, advocate for, and bolster the growth and welfare of young individuals, with a special focus on those in vulnerable circumstances, fostering their excellence across all aspects of life. We are delighted to share some of the noteworthy happenings at PAANEAH FOUNDATION during the Third Quarter of 2023. This newsletter offers a comprehensive overview of our accomplishments and progress in this quarter, in addition to a preview of our upcoming events. We invite you to delve into the content with great enthusiasm. Happy Reading!
Programmes and Services
The past quarter was marked by a high level of activity as we remained fully engaged in our mission of creating meaningful and positive impacts in the lives of the young individuals under our care. Throughout this period, we diligently delivered our fundamental programs and services to both our local community and our rapidly expanding online audience through the timely generation of valuable content.
Social, Character Development and Empowerment Programmes
PAANEAH FOUNDATION started the 3rd Quarter of 2023 on a very happy note as it was the time our young people just got their long vacation. We had more time with and for them!!! As an organization that cares about the mental health of the young people under our care, we started the quarter with our social programme tagged 2 weeks of fun where the young people were allowed freedom of expression and active participation in exciting indoor and outdoor games. It was a two weeks full of games competition and fun generally. This allowed us to bond better with the young people and be able to spot the different problems that we need to provide further solutions to regarding their social and character development.
Also in the quarter, we had our Annual Summer Skill Acquisition Programme, an annual programme that is aimed at empowering and equipping the youths, mostly, the vulnerable groups around Ota, Ogun State with necessary and relevant skills to enable them to compete in the fast-growing and expanding labour market where academic skills are no longer enough to be relevant. Like every year, this year focused on baking and snack making, fashion designing and tech skill acquisition. The detailed report of the programme can be found here
It was a quarter where we were able to explore much of our social and character development programmes. The quarter also witnessed the continuation of our newly launched social and character development programme tagged “Chat With Grandma.” We had the honour of having Granmda Modupe Eni-Olayoku, the vice chairman of the board of trustees of the organization come around on Thursday evenings to engage the Young People in life-changing chats through telling of her stories and making them learn quality life-lessons.
Part of our social and character development programmes also include our monthly film show programme and occasional “Family Meetings” where the young people are given the floor to express their minds and topics of discussion are picked up and professionally discussed to further make the young people learn.
Academic Programmes
In the third quarter of 2023, we are pleased to share positive developments in the academic realm, coinciding with the ongoing admission season. Oluwatobi Ikumapayi, a beneficiary of our training and comprehensive academic counseling sessions, brought forth promising news of his admission to the Federal Polytechnic of Ilaro, Ogun State, where he will pursue his preferred field of study in Electrical/Electronics Engineering. Additionally, a significant number of our other program participants successfully met the admission screening criteria for their chosen universities. We maintain a high level of optimism that the forthcoming quarter will be marked by further academic achievements and accomplishments.
It was indeed a very busy quarter for us as an organization because the moment we concluded our skill acquisition programme we commenced our 2023 Summer Lesson and JAMB CBT Training academic programmes immediately.
It has been fun academically engaging the young people through the help of our programme manager and our vibrant volunteers.
Upcoming Programmes
PAANEAH FOUNDATION places a high emphasis on innovation. Currently, we have mobilized our entire team to seamlessly integrate technology programs into the existing initiatives of PAANEAH FOUNDATION. In collaboration with the Community Innovation Hub, we are diligently working towards materializing our vision of transforming the Paaneah Foundation into an innovation hub. This endeavor aims to provide young individuals of all age groups with opportunities to explore the realm of technology, empowering them to develop problem-solving skills for the dynamic challenges of the 21st century.
