THE REPORT OF 2023 SUMMER SKILL ACQUISITION PROGRAMME
The Summer Skill Acquisition Programme is an annual programme of our organization that is aimed at empowering and equipping the youths, mostly, the vulnerable groups around Ota, Ogun State with necessary and relevant skills to enable them to compete in the fast-growing and expanding labour market where academic skills are no longer enough to be relevant.
Like every year, this year focused on Baking and Snack making, Fashion Designing and Tech skill acquisition.
The overall goal and objective of the concept was to orientate, equip and empower the youths with the BASICS of Baking and Snack making, Fashion Designing and Tech skill knowledge both in theories and practices in two weeks in order for them to get inspired and motivated to want to expand the learning later on their own.
The Specific Objectives were to:
- equip young people with the basic knowledge of sketching designs, sewing and creating physical pieces
- enable them to know the basics of making doughnuts and other snacks as well as baking a cake.
- expose the young people to the reality of 4th and 5th generation of Tech through tech-workshop
- enable them to confidently use core computer programmes to produce common digital information such as Word documents and PowerPoint presentations
