2023 Quarter 2 Newsletter
Dear Supporters and Stakeholders,
Happy New Month to you and yours! Welcome to the Q2 Edition of our Quarterly Newsletter. Our organization has been working hard to fulfil our mission to catalyze, promote and support the development and well-being of Young People, particularly vulnerable groups, to attain excellence in every dimension of life and we are excited to share some of the exciting events at PAANEAH FOUNDATION in the Second Quarter of the Year 2023. This newsletter outlines our progress and achievements, during the second quarter of this year as well as our upcoming events. Happy Reading!
Programmes and Services
During this quarter, we have continued to provide our essential programmes and services to the community where we are located and also our fast-growing online audience through timely content creation.
Academic Programmes
The second quarter started with good news for us as Young People that passed through our JAMB CBT TRAINING Programme came bearing good news. We had a record of 293, 230, 200 and 189 scores respectively. We are presently working with Young People that desire to continue to work with us to further prepare for their Post UTME Examinations. We presently have purchased software programmes to help with that adventure.
Our Library was also officially launched in this quarter. The need for us to have a standard library equipped with up-to-date academic materials came from some of our vulnerable Young People not having access to academic materials for adequate preparations for their internal and external examinations, we recognized this problem and we have started creating the solution. With your supports and donations, we hope for a bigger library in the coming days.
We also had our annual Youths of Excellence Stride (YES) Award Programme this quarter. The detailed report of the programme can be accessed here
Lastly, our daily evening Mathematics and English classes continued and we are happy to announce that the value we are creating is being recognized more and the population of Young People we are working with are constantly growing.
Health Programmes
There was a significant improvement in our Health Awareness Programmes in the second quarter with the inclusion of our new health professional volunteer, Nurse Ajiboye Peace, a nursing student of ECWA who has been very supportive of our organization’s passion to sensitize the young people about their health. Working with our Programme manager, she has taken it upon herself to ensure we have quality contents for our health awareness initiatives tagged online as “Healthy Sunday” and offline as “Health Talk.” While they both carry the same content, “Healthy Sunday” is an online programme where quality health awareness content are published while “Health Talk” is an offline programme that comes up every third Friday of the month where health-related topics are discussed.
In the quarter, mental health-related topics such as “Imposter Syndrome” and “Inferiority Complex” were taught to young people both offline and online on our Instagram page as can be found here.
The Young People were also sensitized on how to maintain a healthy kidney via our content tagged “Maintaining Healthy Kidney”
Social and Character Development Programmes
As an organization, we are not only concerned about Young People’s academic excellence and health development, we are on a mission to ensure they attain excellence in every dimension of life, this is the underlying factor behind our passion for their social and character development.
To this end, the second quarter also witnessed several social and character development programmes such as our monthly Paaneahlympics Programme. The Paaneahlympics Programme comes up every first Friday of the month where the Young People are divided into groups to work together as a team to compete for prizes in indoor and outdoor games and competitions. For now, as our resources will allow us, we presently have standard table tennis, the game of chess, scrabble, whot and joker.
The quarter also witnessed the launching our new social and character development tagged “Chat With Grandma.” Granmda Modupe Olayoku, the vice chairman of the board of trustees of the organization agreed to be joining us every Thursday evening to engage the Young People in life-changing chats.
Part of our social and character development programmes also include our monthly film show programme and occasional “Family Meetings.”
Conclusion
We are grateful for your continued support and belief in our organization’s mission, it is with your support and donations that we are being able to render all of our programmes for free. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of Young People in our community who need it most. We look forward to updating you on our progress and achievements in the coming months.
